WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The smell of Greek take-out is in the air and pre-orders are open for the Greek Food Festival in Luzerne County.

The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church kicked off its Greek Food Festival in Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday.

Many Greek favorites will be available including gyros, Greek chicken, baklava, and more.

Food is available for take-out only and you are encouraged to pre-order by phone or internet at least two hours in advance.

“We can’t keep the church going without the work we do for these festivals, and so we are very grateful for our customers, and we do our best to make sure everything is delicious, and packed right, and ready to go for them,” said Volunteer Taresa Karampelas.

The festival runs from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. all week until Friday at the church on 32 East Ross Street in Wilkes-Barre.
