    Man wanted for allegedly stealing dog in Wilkes-Barre

    WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are searching for a suspect who they say stole a dog outside of a business.

    According to the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department, on Wednesday, October 2, officers were called to the 400 block of North Pennsylvania Avenue for a report of a dog stolen.

    Police say that once on the scene, the victim left her dog outside of the business while she went inside to purchase items. When the victim left the business her dog was missing.

    Investigators reviewed surveillance video and saw the suspect motion toward the dog before walking away from the business with the victim’s dog.

    The dog is a three-year-old pit bull named “Diesel” and is tan in color. Anyone who recognizes the suspect or sees “Diesel,” is asked to contact Officer Cecelon at 570-208-1054.
