HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Seven people were displaced after a Sunday morning fire in Hazleton.

According to a post made by the Hazleton City Fire Department, crews were called just after 2:00 a.m. for a commercial structure fire at Sazon Latino Restaurant, 58 North Wyoming Street.

When crews arrived on-scene, there was heavy smoke showing from the structure.

Officials say they evacuated the second floor apartments when they encountered heavy fire in the kitchen area.

Authorities state seven people were displaced and three people were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

Hazleton City Fire Department, Hazle Township Fire Department, McAdoo Fire Company, and Pennsylvania State Police were on-scene investigating the cause of the fire.
