    Monroe County man dies during apartment fire

    SMITHFIELD TWP., MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The coroner announced a man died after an apartment fire in Monroe County.

    According to Monroe County Coroner Thomas A. Yanac, a 68-year-old man from Smithfield Township died as a result of an apartment fire on October 6 around 7:00 p.m.

    Wanted suspect arrested after Bloomsburg shooting

    An autopsy on October 8 revealed the cause of death was due to thermal injuries and inhalation of products of combustion.

    The victim’s death has been ruled as an accident.

    Pennsylvania State Police along with the Fire Marshal is investigating the fire.
