PLAINS TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center has a new service for veterans to utilize.

On Thursday, the VA’s Connected Care Program unveiled its Virtual Health Resource Center.

The center is an in-person service where veterans, staff, family, and caregivers can learn about all of the VA’s online programs and apps. The center will also offer tech support.

VA staff says it’s an important new tool for veterans.

“A lot of our veterans may not be comfortable or know how to put on the va mobile apps,
So this is a way that they can get hands-on support, they can get training and they can come in and learn more about all of the apps we have available. They can learn about all of the different tools,” said Wilkes-Barre VA Connected Care Manager Meredith Evans.

The center will be available on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the VA lobby.
