    Man arrested, allegedly threatening two by firing gun

    BUTLER TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man has been arrested for allegedly firing a gun at two people and other related charges.

    According to Butler Township Police Department, on October 11, William Joseph Everett, 55, of Drums, accused two victims of stealing from his home.

    Police say Everett then fired a shot into a couch and threatened to burn some of the victim’s belongings by using an aerosol can as a blowtorch.

    Authorities stated Everett admitted to firing a pistol and using an aerosol can as a blowtorch toward the victims.

    Everett has been charged with the discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, multiple counts of terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and other related offenses.
