ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Fur Commission USA is crediting a perimeter fence for preventing suspects from releasing most of the mink there.

A security camera caught two people trespassing on the Richard H. Stahl Son’s Mink Farm near Sunbury very early Saturday morning.

About 200 mink were released this time.

A year ago, this same fur farm was targeted when thousands of mink were illegally freed from their cages.

While no one was arrested the first time, this time police took 25-year-old Christopher Legere, and 27-year-old Cara Mitrano, both of Massachusetts, into custody.

The pair is charged with counts including criminal mischief-damage of property, cruelty to animals, and burglary.
