SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Small businesses are surely feeling the love in Scranton.

The local small business, the Giving Tree Wellness Center, held its third annual Fall Block Party on Penn Avenue on Saturday afternoon.

The all-ages event featured businesses along the 300 block of Penn Avenue with tarot card readings, pumpkin painting, and express chair massages.

Organizers say they even gave themselves a nickname for their efforts on the block.

“We call ourselves the Penn Ave. crew to get together as a team and try to get people out and build business before the holidays. You know, the nice weather, everyone wants to get out and do something,” explained Amanda Gentile the owner of the Giving Tree Wellness Center.

The Penn Ave Crew says the goal of the event is to bring traffic to small businesses.

Scranton businesses in general plus getting to bring out the community to enjoy the nice fall weather.
