2 jailed, 1 wanted in Horry County burglary, police say; suspect shot by homeowner

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Two North Carolina men are facing charges and a third person is wanted after allegedly breaking into a man’s garage before they were shot at, according to Horry County police records obtained by News13.

Roderick Dashawn Bell, 27, of Raleigh, was charged with second-degree non-violent burglary and being a fugitive. He was wanted out of Danville, Virginia, on a burglary charge.

Dimitrious Oshey Murray, 27, of Wilmington, was charged with second-degree non-violent burglary.

Police responded at about 3:50 a.m. on Friday to Green Sea Road for a burglary, according to an incident report. The man told officers Bell and Murray broke into his garage and tried to steal his motorcycles.

The man woke up after his alarm went off, chased after the suspects and fired a gun at them, shooting Murray in the shoulder, according to an arrest warrant.

Murray was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Saturday, online records show. He remains in jail as of this writing on a $50,000 bond.

Bell was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Friday, and he remains in jail without bond set.

No information about the third suspect was immediately available.
