LONGS, S.C. (WBTW) — A Longs post office that was destroyed in a 2021 fire has resumed normal operations, the U.S. Postal Service said on Friday.

The post office became partially operational last month, and an official at the time said they anticipated it being fully operational “soon, barring weather issues or other unexpected delays.”

“We are grateful for the support and understanding of our customers during this challenging time,” South Carolina District Manager Corey Richards said in a news release. “Our priority has always been to ensure that our services remain accessible and reliable. We are excited to return to our Longs location and serve our community once again.”

Officials broke groun d on the new facility in late June 2023 , and Seventh Congressional District Rep. Russell Fry called it a “win for the people of the community” and a “step in the right direction.”

The post office is open from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. It’s open from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday and closed on Sunday.
