    77-year-old dies in Saturday night Horry County collision, authorities say

    HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A person was struck and killed on South Carolina Highway 701 near Sing Avenue in Horry County on Saturday night, authorities said.

    Lena Godbolt, 77, died at the scene of traumatic injuries, Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said.

    It happened about 8:15 p.m. when a Kia sedan hit a person. The driver wasn’t injured.

    Officials said the crash remains under investigation.
