1 dead, 1 hurt in head-on Marion County crash, highway patrol says

MARION COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — One person was killed and another person was hurt in a head-on crash in Marion County on Wednesday morning, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

It happened at about 5:05 a.m. on Highway 378 near Highway 9, Lance Cpl. Lena Butler said. It happened about 2 miles south of Gresham.

A 2014 Dodge Charger was driving east on Highway 378 and a 2023 Kia Forte was driving west when the vehicles crashed, Butler said.

The driver of the Dodge Charger was taken to an area hospital, while the driver of the Kia Forte died at the scene.
