HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Two brothers were sentenced to 30 years in prison after an Horry County jury convicted them in a double-murder trial, the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office said.

Nasirea Grate, 22, and Dajon Grate, 20, both of Longs, were convicted of voluntary manslaughter on Wednesday following a trial that started on Aug. 19. The two were convicted after nearly three hours of jury deliberations.

They were each prosecuted on murder charges in the 2022 shooting deaths of Kalik Conn, 19, and Jeremiah Dicker, 20, the solicitor’s office said. The men were found shot to death on May 31 on Highway 554 near Red Bluff crossroads.

Judge Benjamin Culbertson sentenced the brothers to 30 years in prison. They must serve at least 85% of their sentences before being eligible for supervised release.

A third person, 19-year-old Todd Allen Fry, was also charged in the shooting, according to the solicitor’s office. He pleaded guilty on Aug. 12 to accessory before the fact of armed robbery and was given 10 years in prison.
