CARTERET COUNTY, N.C. (WNCT) — Deputies with the Carteret County Sheriff’s Office were contacted on Monday by someone who had been approached that weekend by Brian David Bohn of Gloucester, regarding a murder-for-hire.

The caller said that he and Bohn had met at a local flea market just months prior and had become acquaintances. He then said that Bohn offered him money to murder another Gloucester resident.

This led to an undercover investigation by detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and Narcotics Division. The investigation held statements and actions made by Bohn, showing that he enticed and aided in planning the murder. Bohn was taken into custody Monday afternoon without incident.

He has been charged with one count of soliciting first-degree murder and is currently being held in the Carteret County Detention Center. Bohn had his first court appearance Tuesday morning and his bond was set at $1.5 million.
