GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — An Andrews Elementary School special education teacher arrested Thursday wanted to “choke the students to death,” the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office said.

Tracy Madarasz, 55, of Andrews, was arrested on two counts of third-degree assault and battery.

Deputies were told that she grabbed one student by the arm and struck them on their backside with her open hand after she saw them drinking her drink. Multiple witnesses said Madarasz then stated she “wanted to choke the life out of” the student, a report said.

Madarasz was also seen on Thursday hitting another student with a broom on their backside, the report said. During this incident, witnesses told deputies that Madarasz said she was “going to choke the students to death,” according to the report.

Madarasz was booked into the Georgetown County Detention Center and was released Friday morning on a $5,000 bond.

I know they can be difficult at times. That would be a little drastic though.
