    Horry County Schools search for new superintendent, ask for community input

    HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — The Horry County Board of Education has started its search for a new superintendent, inviting parents and community members to voice their opinions, a Friday news release said.

    The board has hired BWP & Associates, a search firm specializing in assisting boards seeking superintendents, to be a part of the hiring process.

    Horry County Schools parents and community members are asked to fill out an online survey regarding the search. The survey will be available on the school district’s website from Sept. 16-30.

    Parents and community members can also participate in meetings about the hiring process with consultants from BWP & Associates. The following public open forums are scheduled:

    Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 6 p.m.

    • Green Sea Floyds Middle/High School Community Room: 4990 Tulip Grove Rd, Green Sea, SC 29545
    • Myrtle Beach Middle School Cafeteria: 3101 N Oak St, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577
    • Whittemore Park Middle School Auditorium : 500 El Bethel Rd, Conway, SC 29527

    Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 6 p.m.

    • Ocean Bay Middle School Auditorium: 905 International Dr, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579
    • North Myrtle Beach Middle School Auditorium: 11240 SC-90, Little River, SC 29566
    • St. James Middle School Auditorium: 9775 St James Rd, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576

    Thursday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m.

    • Aynor Middle School Cafeteria: 400 Frye Rd, Galivants Ferry, SC 29544
    • Loris Middle School Community Room: 5209 SC-66, Loris, SC 29569
    • Socastee Middle School Cafeteria: 151 Sheffield Pkwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588
