    Person dies more than 1 week after Darlington County crash, highway patrol says

    DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A person died more than a week after a single-vehicle crash in Darlington County, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said on Friday.

    It happened at 4:40 p.m. on Sept. 1 on Hibiscus Road near Mistywood Drive, Lance Cpl. Lena Butler said. It happened about 1 mile north of Lamar.

    The person was driving a 2016 Nissan Versa south on Hibiscus Road when the vehicle drove off the right of the road and hit a ditch before rolling over, Butler said. They were taken a local hospital where they died on Wednesday.
