Juvenile among 3 in custody after armed robbery at Florence County motel

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Three people were taken into custody Sunday after an armed robbery at the Suburban Extended Stay motel on W. Lucas Street, according to Florence County deputies.

Deputies responded at about 4 p.m., and one of the suspects was detained a short time later at a nearby motel. The juvenile suspect had a handgun, the victim’s wallet and was wearing clothes that matched a description given to deputies.

The juvenile is facing an armed robbery charge, deputies said. They were taken to the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice facility in Columbia. Deputies have not provided any information about the other suspects but said the investigation is continuing.
