    2 unrelated crashes close southbound lanes of Highway 17 Bypass near Surfside Beach

    HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) –Drivers are advised to avoid areas of Highway 17 Bypass just south of Dick Pond Road in Surfside Beach due to two unrelated vehicle crashes, a Horry County Fire Rescue Facebook post said.

    Southbound lanes in the area are blocked due to the two incidents.

    The first crash took place around 3:31 p.m. near South Strand Drive. One person is being transported to the hospital with injuries.

    The second crash took place around 3:47 p.m. near Queens Harbour Boulevard. No one has been transported to the hospital from this incident.

    The majority of people are horrible drivers in this state. Half of them are driving without a license and/or suspended license. The other part are either… High, drunk, and/or prescribed meds but using more then directed. Then that leaves the other part which are too busy on their phones while driving. Yep. That sums up the majority of drivers in this state. That’s why we good drivers have to carry full coverage insurance even though our vehicles been paid off.💯😅
