    Olanta man hit and killed in Florence County, authorities say

    FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A 34-year-old man was hit and killed Monday afternoon in Florence County, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.

    Brandon Tedder, of Olanta, died after he was hit just after 3 p.m. on Carmon Shortcut Road near Jordan Church Road, Coroner Keith von Lutcken said. It happened 1 mile north of Olanta.

    He was walking east on Carmon Shortcut Road when he was hit by a 2001 Ford Explorer that was also going east, Lance Cpl. Lena Butler said. The driver was the only person in the vehicle and was not injured.
