Florence man threatens to kill disabled family member on social media, deputies says

FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) — A Florence man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly threatened to kill a disabled family member over social media, the Florence County Sheriff’s Office said.

Brandon Dean Powers, 21, also allegedly threatened to harm a local business which he recently was fired from. He is charged with making a threat to personal property, two counts of computer crimes and two counts of unlawful communication, according to a news release.

Powers is being held at the Florence County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
