1 killed, 1 hurt in shooting at Red Springs club, police say

RED SPRINGS, N.C. (WBTW) — Red Springs police are looking for a “person of interest” after a shooting at a local nightclub left a man dead and another person wounded and in the hospital.

It happened between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. Sunday at the Carolina Vibe nightclub, according to Red Springs Police Chief Sarah Purcell. Authorities have not released the man’s name, but a GoFundMe set up to help the family with funeral expenses identified him as Devonta Ray.

Purcell said police have a “person of interest” in the case but did not release the person’s name or provide any other information.
