MARION COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A woman who died in a head-on crash in Marion County in late August that later killed another person was at fault for the collision, according to a report from the South Carolina Department of Public Safety.

Kera Elizabeth Evans of Scranton was driving a 2023 Kia Forte on Highway 378 on Aug. 28 when she crossed the center line and crashed into a 2014 Dodge Charger, the report said. Evans died at the scene, while the Dodge driver, Andrew Kilkenny, died at about 5 p.m. on Sept. 10 at McLeod Regional Medical Center.

News13 on Sept. 5 spoke with Kilkenny’s mother , who said her son was still on life support, had both his legs amputated and both his spleen and appendix removed. Kilkenny did not have a seat belt on at the time of the crash.

Kilkenny, 24, of Johnsonville, had a 2-year-old daughter, according to an online obituary. He was working at Bluemax Trucking in Conway at the time of his death.
