Person faces charges in threat against Red Springs Middle School

RED SPRINGS, N.C. (WBTW) — A person is facing charges in connection with a threat against Red Springs Middle School on Monday, the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office said.

Robeson County deputies were contacted about the threat and started following up on information with the help of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations Behavioral Threat Assessment Unit.

During the investigation, authorities identified and located a person at their residence, according to the sheriff’s office. A cell phone and “other evidence” were seized during a search of the residence.

Red Springs Middle School administration was updated on the investigation and will handle any disciplinary actions. The person’s name and charges were not immediately available.
