Missing Pamplico woman seen on video jumping into Great Pee Dee River found dead

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A missing 41-year-old Pamplico woman was found dead on Thursday, according to the National Center for Missing and Endangered .

Adrian Patrice Cain had been missing since about 10 a.m. Sunday from the Bluff Road area near Pamplico, the Florence County Sheriff’s Office. On Thursday, a spokesman confirmed a report that deputies had seen security video from a boat launch on Bluff Road that showed Cain parking her car and then jumping into the water from a pier.

“It is with very heavy hearts that we inform you that Adrian Patrice Cain was located but sadly he has departed this life,” the center said in a Facebook post. “We ask you to please keep Adrian’s family, friends and their community in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate the weeks and months ahead.”

The center did not release any information about where Cain was found. The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources had been searching an area of the Great Pee Dee River after she was seen on video jumping into the waterway, authorities said.

A DNR spokesperson said Thursday afternoon that the agency was assisting the sheriff’s office with the investigation.
