    Hospice nurse killed in Monday afternoon wreck on Highway 501

    HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A Georgetown woman was killed Monday afternoon in a car wreck along U.S. Highway 501.

    Linda Sullivan, 61, was crossing the highway into a middle median when she pulled out in front of an oncoming truck, Horry County Deputy Coroner Patty Bellamy said.

    Horry County Fire Rescue crews were dispatched just before 4:30 p.m. Bellamy said Sullivan was a nurse at Patriot Hospice and Palliative Care.

    Horry County Fire Rescue said the incident involved an entrapment.

    The South Carolina Department of Public Safety is investigating. Horry County police are assisting.
