    Man jailed in deadly Florence apartment shooting

    FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) — A man is facing charges in the s hooting death of another person at a Florence apartment last week, police said on Wednesday.

    Andrew Pearson, 23, of Florence, was charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime and voluntary manslaughter. He was booked into the Florence County Detention Center on Tuesday where he remains without bond.

    Authorities responded at about 10:45 p.m. on Sept. 25 to the 700 block of S. Dargan Street for a gunshot victim, police said. Officers found the victim, who was “obviously deceased,” with the caller rendering aid to them.

    Police said Pearson and the victim were alone in the apartment when Pearson shot and killed them. The Florence County Coroner’s Office is working to identify the victim.
