DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — An early morning crash left two drivers dead and one passenger injured Friday just outside of Hartsville, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at 1:26 a.m. on Highway 151 near Gum Circle, about 3 miles east of Hartsville, according to Lance Cpl. Lena Butler. A 2014 Nissan Sentra was driving east, and a 2007 Toyota Avalon was traveling west when the two cars crashed into each other.

The driver of the Sentra died at the scene, and a passenger was taken to a local hospital, Butler said. The driver of the Avalon was traveling alone and also died on the scene.
