LAKE CITY, S.C. (WBTW) — A 39-year-old South Carolina man was arrested Wednesday in connection with an August shooting in Lake City that injured two people.

Rondell Timothy Trapp of Sumter allegedly broke into a home in August with at least two other men and shot a man and a woman in their bedroom, according to police records obtained from Lake City police by News13.

The victims were taken to a hospital by Florence EMS after the shooting, which happened at about 11 p.m. on Aug. 14, a police report said. No information was immediately available about their injuries. Another person in the home was not hurt.

The male shooting victim told police he did not know who shot them and that he believed the suspect came through a window in the rear of the home next to their bedroom, the police report said.

Warrants in the case indicate that Trapp fired eight gunshots from a 9 mm handgun after he and at least two co-defendants entered the home. He is being held without bond at the Florence County Detention Center on three counts of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, possession of a firearm/ammunition by a person convicted of a violent felony, first-degree burglary and criminal conspiracy.

Prior to the shooting, Trapp was seen on surveillance video parking his vehicle at Coker Oil Company and walking to the victims’ residence, according to warrants. Data retrieved from his cellphone also placed him at the location at the time of the shooting..

The warrants also show that Trapped has “several” felony convictions on his record.
