    Coroner identifies Pawleys Island man hit, killed while walking across Ocean Highway

    PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. (WBTW) — A 46-year-old Pawleys Island man was hit and killed Thursday evening while walking across Ocean Highway, according to authorities.

    Kevin Harrell was pronounced dead at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital, Georgetown County Coroner Chase Rideway said .

    The South Carolina Highway Patrol responded at about 7:15 p.m. to the area of Ocean Highway and Professional Lane, after Harrell was hit by a 2002 Ford SUV going south. The SUV driver was alone in the vehicle and was not injured, troopers said.

    The highway patrol is investigating. Count on News13 for updates.
