MARION COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A Marion County woman is in jail after allegedly stealing more than $240,000 from a Baptist church, the sheriff’s office said Friday.

Yolanda Davis, 59, of Mullins, was charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent of $10,000 or more. She was booked into the Marion County Detention Center and awaits a bond hearing.

Davis, between October 2018 and June 2024, stole more than $240,000 from the First Friendship Baptist Church in the Nichols area, according to the sheriff’s office. She allegedly deposited checks that were made out to the church into a personal account she set up in the church’s name without consent or knowledge of the church.
