    Myrtle Beach woman accused of failing to pay nearly $74,000 in state taxes

    MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A Myrtle Beach woman was arrested last week after allegedly failing to pay nearly $74,000 in state taxes during a four-year period, the South Carolina Department of Revenue said.

    Kathleen Annette Drake, 48, was charged with four counts of failing to file a state income tax return, pay taxes and keep records. She was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Friday and released the same day on a $40,000 bond.

    Between the tax years of 2019 and 2022, Drake had a taxable income of more than $1.6 million, arrest warrants show. Her total taxes due was $73,848.
