CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) — A Conway man is facing charges after he allegedly pistol-whipped a friend, threatened to shoot him and then stole his iPhone, according to police records.

Jerimia Newman was arrested Saturday in connection with the June 28 incident at a home in the 1900 block of Gladys Lane in Conway. He is charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

The victim, who identified Newman as his friend in the police report, told officers that Newman approached him with a handgun and demanded everything he had.

The victim responded by telling Newman he would have to shoot him, the report said. The victim told officers that he was then hit in the face with the handgun.

As of Wednesday morning, Newman remained in the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on a $25,000 bond, according to online jail records.
