Driver killed after striking tree along Horry County highway

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A person was killed Saturday morning after their SUV traveled off a highway and struck a tree, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.

It happened just before 6 a.m. on U.S. Highway 701 near Marine Park Road. The driver went off the right side of the road and died on scene after striking the tree.

No further information was immediately available.
