MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – Good Sunday evening, a cloudy, cool day across the region. Some of us was fortunate enough to pick up a little rain early this morning. It by no means will erase the dry conditions and drought conditions some of us are facing, but it was enough the settle the dust for a few days. Most areas only picked up between a trace to 2/10th of an inch of rain. Tonight we will see cool conditions persist. Some patchy fog is possible late tonight into Monday morning. So take it easy on the roadways, and around bus stops.

Monday will feature clouds to start the day, but as we get into the afternoon hours, we will see a little bit of sunshine mix into the area. We will warm into the low 70s around the coast and Pee Dee. We really start to clear out Monday night. Low temperatures will drop into the mid to upper 50s in most areas. Right along the coast, lows will be near 60. We could see a few showers develop along the coast late Monday night into early Tuesday morning. Most of the showers will be over by Tuesday mid morning.

Any showers that do develop along the coast on Tuesday morning will be gone by mid to late morning. Sunshine should start to prevail across the entire forecast area Tuesday. Highs will be in the mid 70s.

Wednesday through Friday, high pressure will situate itself off the coast. We will see temperatures warm back into the upper 70s to mid 80s across the area. So Halloween afternoon and evening could be warm. We will stay dry through this time frame. Each day will feature above average temperatures in the 80s, with overnight lows in the 60s.

A dry cold front crosses the area Friday night. This will knock the temperatures back into the 70s over the weekend and feature a lot of sunshine. So honestly, no major rain chances through the weekend, will continue to dry us out and worsen the drought conditions across the area.

The tropics are still fairly quiet. The National Hurricane Center is monitoring one system in the Caribbean Sea, this has a 40% chance of development over the next week. If it were to get named, it would be Patty. We will continue to monitor this area and provide updates throughout the week.
