SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – “Lowcountry Sings” is a karaoke contest where the community’s voice can make a difference.

Lowcountry Sings says this event is open to all ages and will support the Summerville Parks Foundation to improve and maintain local greenspaces.

Karaoke singers can enter the contests online beginning July 15. Singers upload a video of themselves singing and share it with their friends and family. Online voting begins July 22 through August 2. Each vote is $1.

“The whole community can get involved by supporting your favorite contestants throughout the online competition,” says Lowcountry Sings. “All the proceeds benefit our wonderful parks.”

Officials say the top 15 singers from round 1 will perform live on August 30 at the Lowcountry Conference Center.

The top 15 winners will be announced on August 5. Tickets for the live event will also be available on August 5.

The top two winners will take home prize packages valued at more than $500.
