BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash involving a driver who struck multiple mailboxes, a building, and a tree in Berkeley County.

Troopers said the crash occurred around 1:40 a.m. Thursday on Ranger Rd near Chocolate Lab Lane, just south of Cross.

According to officials, the collision only involved one vehicle, a 2018 Chevy Silverado pick-up truck and the driver was the sole occupant.

The driver, heading south on Ranger Rd, traveled off the right side of the road and hit two mailboxes, a sign, a building, and a tree.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the deceased.
