Honor walk held at Trident Medical Center for 42-year-old organ donor

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – An honor walk was held Friday morning for a 42-year-old organ donor, whose efforts will extend the lives of five South Carolinians.

A celebration of life event held at Trident Medical Center recognized Marissa Clark and other patients for the “gift of life they provide” to people waiting for organ donations.

Her family described Marissa as a kind-hearted person who loved her children and deeply cherished her family. Her gift will ensure five people in the state will benefit from the donation.

The donation was made to Sharing Hope South Carolina, an organ and tissue donation program. They say nearly 2,000 people in the state are waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant.
