Charleston Police locate man accused of shooting family member at West Ashley apartment

UPDATE: Charleston Police say Buxton Daniel was arrested in West Ashley by the department’s major warrants division. He is being held at the Charleston County Detention Center.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities are still searching for a man accused of shooting a family member at a West Ashley apartment complex.

Officers with the Charleston Police Department responded to the Harper Place at Bees Ferry apartments on Coastal Grass Way late Wednesday night and found an injured person.

The suspect, identified as Buxton Laing Daniel Jr., is accused of shooting a member of his family. He is wanted for attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

The victim was taken to an area hospital with injuries police said were not considered life-threatening.

Daniel was last seen near Bees Ferry Road and Sanders Road. If you see him, call 9-1-1 immediately and do not approach him.
