NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A Lowcountry-based kettle-cooked potato chip maker is taking the Carolina/Clemson team rivalry to the bag — a chip bag.

Lowcountry Kettle, based out of North Charleston, announced this week the launch of two collegiate-branded bags of chips aimed at hyping the University of South Carolina and Clemson University.

Take your pick: enjoy Carolina Sea Salt or Clemson Sea Salt.

Each is flavored with a touch of all-natural premium sea salt. They are packaged in 2-ounce single-serving bags to satisfy your game-day or late-night study break cravings.

They are also offered in 24-count cases of 2-ounce bags, and 24-count mixed case options through www.lowcountrykettle.com .

“Lowcountry Kettle has always been deeply inspired by our local roots as South Carolina’s first potato chip company,” said Andrew Trumbull, co-founder of Lowcountry Kettle, in a news release. “We can’t think of a more authentically Southern tradition than college football, and we’re thrilled to pay tribute to the rich legacies – and passionate fans – of both USC and Clemson through this exciting collaboration.”

On campus? The rivalry chips can be found at retail locations across both university campuses.

“This latest milestone is thanks to our supporters who embrace the homegrown spirit of Lowcountry Kettle,” said co-founder Clayton Wynne. “We are excited to expand our kettle chip flavor lineup with the newest collegiate bags, and for USC and Clemson fans to discover our authentic Lowcountry taste this tailgate season.”

Lowcountry Kettle’s other chip flavors include State Fair Fried Pickle, Spicy Pimento Cheese, Bloody Mary, and Holy City Red Wine Vinegar & Sea Salt. They can be purchased at over 500 stores across the Carolinas, Georgia, Virginia, Florida, Texas, and New York.
