CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – No injuries were reported following a Thursday afternoon fight at Burke High School.

The Charleston Police Department said a large fight that involved several students broke out at the school.

A School Resource Office was on the scene and called for additional units. The fight was eventually broken up.

The Charleston County School District said the school was placed in a ‘hold,’ which allowed law enforcement and staff members to respond to the fight and de-escalate the situation.

“Burke remained in a HOLD for the rest of the school day, as the Charleston Police Department kept officers on campus through dismissal,” the district said in a statement to News 2.

No injuries were reported, and EMS was not called.

The district said it will follow its disciplinary protocol to address the situation. “Fighting will not be tolerated in our schools,” the district added.

Charleston officers said they would remain on campus for the remainder of the school day.

There was a time in America when students attended classes to get an education .Now, students just enter the classroom, sit down, and eat their class assignments and act like a mindless jackass while live streaming video of themselves .
