MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – A Mount Pleasant lottery player is $300,000 richer after a clerk made a mistake.

According to lottery officials, the player asked for four different tickets, but the clerk gave him two of the same one – and he didn’t complain.

“They were busy in the store, and the clerk was flustered,” the winner told South Carolina Education Lottery officials. “She pulled two tickets out of one slot, and turns out that was a lucky thing.”

The $300,000 ticket was bought at the Circle K on W. Coleman Blvd.

The winner told lottery officials he was choosing to save the money.

There is still one more top prize of $300,000 available in the Power 777 game, with odds of 1 in 960,000.
