JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) – Who killed 16-year-old Jaquez Cromwell? Detectives are searching for answers five years later.

The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office said Cromwell went with a parent to his grandparent’s Jeffery Road home on September 6, 2019, to prepare for an impending hurricane.

He walked away from the home at one point and was met by someone who shot him on a dirt path between Jeffery and Honey Hill roads, according to deputies. He went missing as Hurricane Dorian lashed the area, and his body was not found for days.

A former spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said at the time that a citizen located the teen’s body near a wooded area, which was commonly used as a pedestrian path connecting surrounding neighborhoods.

Detectives have not developed any suspects in the case. They ask that anyone with information contact Detective Barry Goldstein by calling 843-554-2241.

eventually, what happens in the dark comes out in the light. Know that revenge is the Lord, and according to Carma, God always repay. Just because the police don't know, doesn't mean justice has not been served.
