CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Cooler temperatures and cloudy skies are making it feel like fall in Charleston today, but don’t get too comfortable—Storm Team 2 warns that this autumn-like weather is only temporary.

Expect scattered showers throughout the day, with off-and-on rain likely. The clouds and wind will keep temperatures in the mid to upper 70s, which is slightly below average for this time of year. Tonight’s low will drop into the 60s, adding to the cooler feel.

Meteorologist Grace Lowe noted that wind gusts could reach up to 15 or even 20 mph, especially near the coast, adding a bit of chill to the air.

“If you head out to 2nd Sunday, keep your rain gear close,” Lowe advised, with showers expected to pop up during the afternoon festivities.

Make sure to prepare for the changing conditions, but enjoy the refreshing break from the usual summer heat while it lasts.
