    Coroner IDs mother, son in West Ashley house fire deemed murder-suicide

    CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston County Coroner has identified the mother and son that died in the West Ashley house fire deemed a murder-suicide.

    Phyllis Ogle, 82, and Bobby Ogle, 61, both from Charleston, have been identified as the individuals who died following a house fire intentionally set near Seabago Drive in the West Ashley area, the coroner reports.

    Ms. Ogle died at the Medical University of South Carolina on September 8 from injuries sustained in the fire set by her son. According to officials, her death is ruled a homicide.

    Her son, Bobby Ogle died on the scene from injuries sustained in the house fire, his manner of death is listed as a suicide.

    The Charleston Police Department and Charleston Fire Department Fire Marshal are investigating.
