GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCBD) – An 18-wheeler carrying a military vehicle was struck by a train Thursday afternoon at a Goose Creek railroad crossing.

Officials with the Goose Creek Police Department said they received a call about an 18-wheeler versus train crash on N Goose Creek Boulevard and Liberty Hall Road around 12:30 p.m.

Police said the truck with what was referred to as a “low boy” trailer was carrying a military vehicle when it got stuck while attempting to drive over the train crossing. An oncoming train then smashed into the vehicle and damaged the crossing.
