ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. (WCBD) – A couple was rescued Saturday night after accidentally driving their vehicle into the water at the Isle of Palms Marina.

According to Sgt. Matthew Storen, both the driver and passenger were rescued by a bystander before first responders arrived. No injuries were reported.

The Isle of Palms Police Department (IOPPD) posted a notice on X (formerly Twitter) that referenced the incident, stating, “Due to an earlier incident at The Isle of Palms Marina, the boat ramp at the marina will be closed until further notice. IOPPD is in contact with the Dockmaster and will provide an update when the ramp is reopened.”

The Isle of Palms Police Department, Isle of Palms Fire Department, the CCSO dive team, and the U.S. Coast Guard Charleston responded and assisted in the removal of the vehicle on Sunday.

The Isle of Palms Police Department cleared the scene. The boat ramp is open and U.S. Coast Guard reported no environmental impacts.

Go to the restaurant and ask for a copy of their receipt. Just how many shots did they have?
