Williamsburg County schools closed Monday due to severe weather

WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Schools in Williamsburg County will be closed Monday due to the threat for severe weather .

While students will not head to class, the district said staff should report to work if they can.

Georgetown County schools are also closed Monday.

A tropical storm warning is in effect along the South Carolina coast a system is expected to further develop before making landfall north of Charleston sometime Monday.

Heavy rainfall, flooding, and gusty winds are likely.
