MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – Cement that spilled onto the southbound lanes of Highway 17 in Mount Pleasant has been cleared.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department said earlier Monday that a far-right lane of Highway 17 near Ye Old Fashioned was closed after a cement truck had spilled cement on the roadway.

It took crews some time to clear the road; however, police said the road reopened around 11:49 a.m.
