CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Charleston County Public Library branches will close early Thursday due to the threat of severe weather associated with Hurricane Helene.

Library leaders say the West Ashley Library will close at 3 p.m., and all other branches will close at 6 p.m.

“Staff will be monitoring the weather closely and future closures will be announced if needed,” said CCPL.

Book drops and automated material returns will also be closed during that time. People should not leave items outside book drops while they are closed.

Digital resources will still be available at ccpl.org.

The library’s Board of Trustees meeting scheduled for Thursday is moved to October 3. It will be held at the Mount Pleasant Library at 5:30 p.m.
